Matthew Bradbury, Associate Professor, leader of the Landscape Architecture Programme at the School of Architecture Unitec Te Pukenga, talks with RNZ’s Kathryn Ryan about ensuring construction of new housing doesn’t exacerbate future flooding. He cites Freemans Bay’s Star Block apartments as being a good example of providing more concentrated housing while leaving the surrounding park to both absorb runoff and let flooding from the nearby park run through the grounds.
